Kuwaiti homes carry some of the most generous reception rooms in the Gulf, and rooms of that scale deserve rugs drawn for them rather than picked from a size chart. Rugberry makes rugs this way only: designed for the room, cut to the centimetre, and delivered to your door in Kuwait.

Made for the majlis and the diwaniya

The diwaniya and the family majlis both ask for one surface that holds the seating together, with generous margins beyond. That usually means four metres and up, sizes no standard chart carries. We take a floor plan or measurements and draw the rug from there, in rectangles, rounds or forms that follow the seating.

The materials

New Zealand wool holds its colour under strong light and its shape under the traffic these rooms see. Silk and wool-silk weaves suit formal reception rooms, where the sheen lifts at seated eye level. The rare fibres of Rugberry Reserve, cashmere, alpaca, mohair and merino, are shown on request for principal bedrooms and private rooms.

Delivery across Kuwait

Every piece is made by hand and delivered to Kuwait City, Salmiya, Mishref and across the country, finished, bound and ready to place. Recent commissions include majlis-scale pieces delivered door to door. Shipping and customs are handled in the quote, so the price you approve is the price you pay.

Do you deliver to Kuwait?

Yes. We deliver across Kuwait, door to door, with delivery arranged when the rug is finished.

Can you make a rug for a large majlis or diwaniya?

Yes, that is our core work. Majlis-scale pieces are made to order at any dimension, including rounds of four metres and more, and hand-knotted construction is available for rugs intended to stay with the family.

How do I choose colours from Kuwait?

Send a fabric swatch, a paint reference or photographs of the room. Before weaving begins we make a strike-off, a physical sample of the weave in your colours, so you approve the tone in your own light.

How long does a commission take?

Selected designs held as rolls are cut to size in about a week. Fully bespoke commissions take longer, and we confirm a date rather than a range at the outset.
