Luxury Rugs Los Angeles
Custom Area Rugs for Los Angeles Homes
Open plans, glass walls and rooms that run into one another: Los Angeles houses ask a rug to do a job that walls used to do. A rug is often the only thing separating the seating from the dining table. Rugberry draws each piece for the room it will live in, in feet and inches, and ships it to your address in California.

Zoning an open plan
In a room with no dividing walls, the rug draws the line. Sized generously it gathers the seating into one place and leaves the circulation clear; sized timidly it makes the furniture look adrift. From Mid-Century houses in the hills to new builds in Pacific Palisades, the sizes that work are usually larger than the ones people expect, and almost never a catalogue number.
The formats that come up most here are the ones stock retail rarely carries: 10x14 and 12x15 for a great room, 10x16 and longer for a room that runs the depth of the house, rounds above 8 feet for a breakfast area, and shapes traced from the plan where a room turns a corner. All of it is cut to the inch.
Where we ship in Southern California
Most Los Angeles commissions go to the same handful of neighbourhoods, and the rooms in each ask for something different. Beverly Hills and Bel Air for formal reception rooms at scale. Brentwood, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades for open plans that face the light. Malibu for houses that live half outdoors, where a firmer weave earns its place. Hancock Park and Los Feliz for period rooms with defined proportions. We ship the same way to Newport Beach, Montecito and across the state.
Materials for strong Californian light
Direct sun is the real test. New Zealand wool holds its colour under it, which is why it is the default here. Wool and silk weaves lift and shift as the light moves across the day, which suits rooms with a lot of glass. Jute and wool weaves give a firmer, more textured surface for indoor-outdoor rooms. For pieces meant to last generations, a hand-knotted rug is the traditional construction. The rare fibres of Rugberry Reserve, cashmere, alpaca, mohair, merino and llama, are shown on request.
For designers and studios
Much of our Los Angeles work comes through interior designers, and the process is built for it: drawings to scale against your floor plan, colour matched to the scheme rather than to a catalogue, a strike-off approved before weaving begins, and a single confirmed delivery date rather than a range. Trade terms, project pricing and sample handling are set out on the Rugberry Trade Program page.
Shipping to Los Angeles
Every piece is made by hand and shipped to Los Angeles, Orange County and across California, finished, bound and ready to place. Shipping and duties are handled in the quote, so the price you approve is the price you pay. Delivery is booked with you once the rug is finished.
Questions we are asked most
Do you ship rugs to Los Angeles?
Yes. We ship across the United States, including Los Angeles, Orange County and the wider California market. Shipping and duties are included in the quote.
What size rug suits an open-plan living room?
Large enough that every seat rests on it, with an even margin of floor beyond. In most open plans that means going a size or two above what the room first suggests. Send a floor plan and we will size it with you.
Will strong sunlight fade the rug?
New Zealand wool is chosen partly for its colour stability under strong light. Silk shifts in appearance as the light moves, which is an effect rather than a fault, and we will tell you where each material is a good idea.
Can I see samples in Los Angeles?
Yes. Material samples are couriered to your address or your designer's studio, and before weaving begins we make a strike-off, a physical sample of the weave in your colours, so nothing is approved from a screen alone.
Do you work with Los Angeles interior designers?
Regularly. Drawings are prepared to scale against the floor plan, colours are matched to the scheme, and trade terms are set out on the Trade Program page.
How long does a custom rug take?
Selected designs held as rolls are cut to size in about a week. Fully bespoke commissions take longer, and we confirm a date rather than a range at the outset.
