Materials that hold up to steam heat and city light

New Zealand wool is the workhorse: dense, resilient, and stable through a winter of radiator heat and a summer of south-facing light. A wool and silk blend gives a low sheen that shifts through the day, which suits formal rooms and primary bedrooms. For a piece meant to outlast the apartment, a hand-knotted rug is the traditional answer. The rare fibres of Rugberry Reserve, cashmere, alpaca, mohair and merino, are shown on request.

Send a fabric swatch, a paint reference or photographs of the room. Before weaving begins we make a strike-off, a physical sample of the weave in your colours, so you approve the tone in your own light.

How long does a custom rug take?

Selected designs held as rolls are cut to size in about a week. Fully bespoke commissions take longer, and we confirm a date rather than a range at the outset.
