Merino Wool Rugs
Merino Rugs, Wool at Its Finest
Merino is the wool the rest of wool aspires to. It is the fibre of fine knitwear, spun from sheep bred for centuries toward one goal: fineness. Brought underfoot, it does something unexpected, giving a rug the hand of a favourite sweater and the composure of a tailored one.

The fibre
Merino fibres are among the finest any sheep grows, fine enough to be worn against skin without complaint, which is the true test of wool. The fibre breathes, tempers a room's warmth rather than trapping it, and springs back where coarser wool lies down.
Why merino underfoot
A merino rug suits rooms that run temperate and tastes that run precise. The surface is even and calm, the softness immediate, the recovery quiet. It is wool without the reminder that it is wool.
Merino at Rugberry
Our merino work lives in Rugberry Reserve, in the Stria design, woven in Ivory, Beige and Slate. Each piece is handcrafted, made in small number, and shown on request.
How it compares
Merino against cashmere and silk, on softness, durability and cost: our material guide sets it out in full.
